We don't have a really good place for this and people have requested a place to talk about trades, so we will put in the off-topic for now...talk away!

I dont think the Kidd trade is close to fair. Expiring contracts should not net u an excellent PG like Kidd by himself let alone a couple other pieces that are solid role players. That's the way I feel about this trade. Hopefully the committee has the same views as I do

Committee has let a few deals go through that weren't exactly fair, but I chose to stay out of it.
Closer look should be taken at certain deals in the future, even if u arent with the majority.

The Kidd deal is definitely lopsided. Kidd for Curry straight up wouldn't even be fair and the fact that value was added to Kidd just makes the deal even worse. The deal has to be vetoed in order to keep the league in check.

look at the salaries here guys.. Then look at where Dallas is at salary wise.. it makes sense to me. He has answers other than Kidd too.

Kidd is still an elite player. I understand the salaries part of the deal. However, there is no way in hell that this trade would be allowed by stern or even thought of by cuban in the real NBA. Kidd is way too valuable to just be thrown away.
Mavs could very easily move one of his bigs in haywood or damp to relieve his salary issues. Or he could get A LOT more for kidd and still relieve his salary issues.
Either way there is absolutely no way this trade should be allowed. There has already been 3 managers that have come forth and said so. I think that should speak volumes to how lopsided this trade is

He dealt Haywood to me. Dampier is in Charlotte.

Yeah i just realized that. But he is far enough under the cap. Atleast get some value out of kidd. He can move kidd for a younger solid PG and still cut salary. The fact that Kidd + 2 role players for Eddy Curry was even mentioned to begin with sickens me

Kidd is rated a 77 in this league. That is not elite, not at all. Dallas can run Delonte West out there and only lose one rating point.
Also, managers tend to get more upset not when trades are "lopsided" but when THEY are not the ones getting the perceived "good" end of the deal. That's what I believe is happening here. Managers are jealous.
Mavs saves salary this season, and he saves even more salary next year.
Calling Darius Songalia a "solid role player" at a 64 rating is ridiculous and shows how people are not really thinking clearly. There are a slew of 68-70 rated players on the FA wire that aren't even getting interest. Juwan Howard is also basically completely replaceable for Dallas, again he's just rated 68. I take on cap for this year and 8.5 mil for next year for a player on the downside of his career that doesn't have a ton of value anymore.
Though I must say, if Minny values him as an elite player, if I get Kidd I'll be shopping him to you first sir.

I know I'll get accused of meddling but I agree with everyone else, Kidd is worth WAY more than what was given. Most of the other deals like this have had picks changing hands, there is at least something desirable in all of those deals. There is a difference between someone winning a deal and raping.

Nobody wants to be in a league where the committee just sits back and let's any deal go through. The league needs to maintain balance. Deals like that one don't achieve that goal. Reassess your committee a little more.

Yeah u got it.. We are all jealous.. PLEASE man.. That trade is awful.
Please take a look at Kidd. Why is he only rated a 77 anyway? He had a career high in 3FG% last year. He still runs the point for a very good offensive team with Dirk and Caron butler and "the jet" running the 2 most of the game. That means he is going to get a lot of assists, he still rebounds the ball very well out of the PG spot, he scores and he was over a steal per game last year if I remember correctly.. His #'s alone should absolutely make him above an 80 in the rating IMO
This trade should absolutely not pass
Kidd yes is still in the top 80% of PG's based on #'s alone in this league. I will promise u that. Go look at Ki

And if Kidd is not elite, why did u work so hard to trade for him then?
That's what we thought....

Lol. I love you assuming I "worked so hard". Dallas came to me asking to take Marion and Kidd for Curry and "maybe a salary filler" (at that point, the deal would not have worked with both guys in it). That was about a week ago.
Yesterday or 2 days ago I sent him a PM, asked him if he wanted to revisit something like this.
We sent a couple ideas back and forth, and then he said he'd agree to this deal to gain the cap space. I really did not work very hard, neither of us did. You know what they say about when people assume...yes, it fits for you well right here.
As for the "jealousy" comment, that is just my experience in the last 4 years of these leagues, take it for what it is worth.

Not a joke, I spent about 10 combined minutes on this deal, if that. One of the easiest deals I've done really, we both wanted the same things out of the deal.
