Today, I sat down with trade whoring GM Brad Jasper aka Bobby Mercer on facebook because he is insecure with his identity. Anyways, Brad has made many prominent moves since taking over the Bullets, I mean Wizards. So I asked him a few questions on his teams progress and what the future holds.
Bulls GM What do you feel was the best trade you have done so far and why?
Wiz GMI feel that the best trade that I have made as General Manager of the Washington Wizards is the deal that sent me Danny Granger, Mike Dunleavy, Darko Milicic and Delonte West. The reason I feel this way is due to the overall nature of the deal, we managed to turn Granger and Delonte West into Dwight Howard and used Mike Dunleavy to net me some interesting pieces as well. This was a tough one as I've made a superfluous number of deals, but I feel this deal is the best.
the quick trigger finger of the Wiz GM allowed the Wiz to get and then trade Granger for top big man Dwight Howard
Bulls GM Are you talking to any GMs right now about accquiring more pieces to your puzzle? If so are you targeting anyone specifically?
Wiz GM Right now there are a few deals I've been working on that might send my two superstars(Rondo and Howard) out of Washington and getting me a more solid team. I feel this team needs to be moer balanced. However, If I don't have find the right pieces I will move small pieces for upgrades..
Bulls GM What are your expectations for this season and moving forward past this season?
Wiz GM My expectations include making it to at least the ECF. Then after this season I have the same expectations, I feel with Rondo and Dwight that this team is young enough to compete for years to come.
Bulls GM Do you feel like you have any competition in the East right now? If so name those teams and explain why you feel like they might be a threat to you and your club.
Wiz GM The Bulls, Magic and Heat are my main competition for this year. I feel that the Bulls are the most complete team in the league and could easily win the title. However, They lack a strong bench and that could be a problem for them. The Heat are the team to watch out for,as everybody knows. The Magic are going to be good as everybody knows. They have two great players and a solid core.
As fast as the Big 3 formed it was torn down to the Big 2 just as quick with Bosh departing
Bulls GM Who wins the NBA title and who finishes picking #1 overall in June?
Wiz GM The NBA title will hopefully be held in DC. The first pick will probably between the Pistons and the Raptors, I feel they are both in rebuilding status and are going a different direction with their team. No disrepect to either team. However the title could also be between the Bulls-lakers or the Heat. All are heavy favorites.
Being bias with the reporter but who can blame him? Rose is a great franchise player to have
Bulls GM Whose made the most improvements to their team and whose made their team worse?
Wiz GM In my opinion, the teams who have made the most improvements are the Bulls, Cavs and I'd like to say I like the direction that the Celtics are going. It was hard for me to deal him John Wall. One team I feel has made their team worse has to be the Pacers. Granger for a questioned Arenas, and then some other questionable deals. He'll be better if he deals Arenas for a young stud.
Bulls GM Any final thoughts before we wrap this up?
Wiz GM II just wish to thank the other GM's in this league, We're all working pretty hard, so this interview was extremely difficult to pinpoint who had done more work than others.I'm impressed with the level of activity we've seen. Thanks guys!
The Wizards hope Dwight Howard can finally lead the Wiz to the promised land
