*4 Committee Member Approvals Needed:
A trade will only be approved if 4 out of the 7 committee members gives their approval for the trade. All members will use their judgment as to how they vote on any trade. All members will use their NBA knowledge to determine if a trade is fair or not. A reason will be given to why a trade was rejected by each committee member that rejected the trade. A trade will not be approved if it is given 4 rejections by the committee.
*Backing Out Of Any Trade:
Once you have accepted a posted trade in the submitted trade thread, you may not back out of your end of the deal. Trade talks in PM's are not factored into this rule. In order to have a trade voided, both sides must agree to back out. One side may agree to compensate the other by sending a draft pick in order to have them agree to back out.
*Salary Cap Issues:
If after the trade, you are over the cap, your incoming salaries must not exceed 125% of your outgoing salaries. (This always seems to be a complicated issue, so if you have any questions just ask).
*Official Definition Of The 125% Rule:
Teams above the cap (or teams below the cap but would end up more than $100,000 over the cap following a trade) cannot acquire more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary they trade away. There is no lower limit -- teams may divest themselves of as much salary as they wish in a trade.
*Roster Restrictions:
No team must exceed the 15 player roster limit or go below the 12 player minimum when acquiring players in a trade. If a trade means that a team does exceed this limit, they must immediately release the player or players before the deal can be completed. If a team is put below the 12 player minimum they will immediately have to sign a player from the free agent pool.
*Trading Draft Picks:
You may only trade draft picks 2 years in advance. Example - In the 2010-11 season, you may only trade 2011 and 2012 draft picks. You may start trading 2013 draft picks after the rookie draft in 2010.
*Trading Free Agents:
You may not trade a player you sign in season as a free agent for at least 2 sim months.
You may not trade a player you sign in the off season as a free agent until December 15th. Once after Dec 15th it is free game for those players to then be traded.
You may NOT transfer money/pay a portion of a players contract. It got a bit out of hand when we tried it and I had to put some sort of stop to it.
*Trade Deadline:
The trade deadline for NBA Legends is February 22nd (SIM). After the deadline passes you may not make any trades until the NBA Finals are over. You may still continue to discuss trades, but nothing will be finalized until the post season concludes.
