| | HAWKS: The Hawks' well-balanced attack, with the aid of a pretty nice bench, has tore through the league to this point. The biggest question for this team is if they have enough size and talent at the PF/C spots to compete against some of the larger teams in the league. | WIZARDS: The 2nd SouthEast Division Powerhouse boasts Dwight Howard and Rajon Rondo. What more do you really need? Well, Rashard Lewis, Carl Landry, and a crafty, never-quit veteran with Finals experience in Iverson just round out this starting lineup in a way that is obviously working so far. | LAKERS: Our first Western Conference team boasts pretty much the Championship squad we're used to, with a Mo Williams for Andrew Bynum swap that moves everyone in the starting lineup around a little bit. So far things have worked, but losing the ability to play both Bynum and Gasol in different situations could hurt them in the Playoffs. | THUNDER: Team is not that laden with top talent (per ratings), though their future looks great. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are just carrying this team on their backs, taking no prisoners. | 76ERS: Surprise team here for some people, but 86, 82, 79, 79, 74 is definitely one of the better starting lineups in this league right now. They have a weird mix of Old (Brand, Tayshaun)/Young (Bynum, Flynn, Brewer) guys going forward, with Iggy thrown in, but for now, it's working for them. | JAZZ: If I remember correctly, Utah started out 1-6. Do some simple math, they have been ON FIRE! Deron, Al Jeff, Millsap, Kirilenko with some youth for the future makes for a fun team to follow. | | GRIZZLIES: Four players at 80 or above is a recipe for success. Grizz made some interesting moves and they've paid off so far. | HEAT: Must say, for this team, anything less than 60 wins should be a disappointment. AT least, before trading started. A 9 -6 Record can't be what the Heat envisioned to start off. The good news is, it's still early. | WARRIORS: They get thin pretty quickly when you look at their Depth Chart, but Stephen Curry entered Beast Mode the 2nd half of last season and will not slow down. Watch out for this kid for years and years to come. | SPURS: Ol' Faithful keeps chugging along, but with some different pieces. I don't have the numbers, but this has to be the oldest team in the league. Duncan still leads the way, but new running mates like Big Diesel, Chauncey Billups, Antawn Jamison, and Troy Murphy give this team a whole new, yet still pretty used, look. | CELTICS: We all know the Celtics, right? Garnett, Allen, Perkins, ...Wall? That's right, the Celtics made a move to go a lot younger, and took a big risk in doing so. If Wall ends up not panning out, this offseason will be the one that killed this franchise. A lot of weight on that young man's shoulders. | HORNETS: Must say, I thought this team would be better. Chris Paul. Chris Bosh. The rest of the roster has talent and a lot of valuable experience. So far, they just are not meshing as well as they should. Still good, but a bit of a disappointment to this point. | | MAGIC: Moving Dwight has not worked out for them to this point. Still a playoff type team, but they're missing their Superman. | BOBCATS: Should probably be happy with their team to this point. They made one major move during the Offseason, and overall it hasn't affected them much one way or the other. Bottom of the East Playoff type team. | CLIPPERS: Had one of the msot active offseasons, and now starts a brand new starting 5. Results are mixed thus far, but this is a young team that should be a force for years. | TRAILBLAZERS: New GM is already trying to make some moves. The previous owner downgrading from Oden to Splitter definitely hurts the chances of competitiveness for this year anyway. | BUCKS: Sent their youngster Brandon Jennings packing in the offseason, and are both better for it for this season, and probably worse for it in the future. But, these are the risks teams take to compete in the "what have you done for me lately" world of the NBA. | PISTONS: Not really sure how a team with the best player as a 77 is this high, but they've kept themselves in the playoff hunt, while being super young overall. Maybe they just found a magic mix of players. Time will tell, but they are certainly gelling lately, going 3-0 this past week. | | KNICKS: Knicks have been up and down this year. They are a very matchup-driven squad. If they over-match you in certain areas, they tend to win handily. Unfortunately for them, if the other team over-matches them in certain areas, they lose just as convincingly. Jason Kidd has been on the Block for weeks, but interest is a bit thin. Look for something to happen before long. | TIMBERWOLVES: Even the TWolves' own GM is shocked with how his team played to start the season. He actually had another good week, going 2-1, but you have to wonder how long they can win with Kevin Love leading the way. | MAVERICKS: We're a little puzzled how the Mavs are this low, but it is really just too early in the season to put much stock into it. Turn two of their losses into wins, and they are 9-8, and probably ranked just outside the top 10. Case in point, the Mavs beat heated Rival 76ers (ranked 5 in these Rankings) in one of the last Sims. | BULLS: The team with "The Man No One is Talking About" had better get their ass in gear. It's early, yes, but a team with Rose, GWall, SJax, and Noah should be doing better. There is a humongous dropoff in talent after those 4 though, so maybe they are simply not deep enough to make noise at this point. If changes aren't made, don't be surprised if they just get worse as the year goes on, as those top guys are relied on more and more, and they wear down. | NETS: The Nets had an interesting offseason, first drafting John Wall, then sending him packing to get the likes of Paul Pierce through a series of moves. So far, the team is not quite clicking, but they do have a very promising front-line of Brook Lopez and Derrick Favors to keep fans happy for now. | NUGGETS: Wow. The Nuggets at 24 you say? Well, that's what a 5-11 record gets you. Good news for Nuggets fans is, they are 2-1 in the last week and 4-2 in the last two weeks. They have a lot of teams to jump over, but it is early enough that they can do it. Should be fun to watch them the rest of the year. | | ROCKETS: Yao Ming. Zach Randolph. Devin Harris. Ben Gordon. Trevor Ariza. Lots of high ratings here, but they simply do not know how to play together. It is like the backcourt is built to run while the frontcourt plods up and down the court. Obviously not a recipe for success to this point. The injury bug hasn't even found Yao yet. Look for some moves from the Rockets if they don't start clicking, somehow. | KINGS: Need to find someone to take Dalembert and Baron Davis off their hands so guys like Cousins and Collison can start developing. They're not winning anyway, why keep the overpriced, aging vets around at the expense of developing the young studs? | SUNS: They desperately are missing Amar'e Stoudemire's game down in the Desert. Nash is aging, but still useful. Might they look to trade him while he still has value? | CAVALIERS: Losing LeBron hurts. Finding a way to turn Mo Williams into Evan Turner helps, but not nearly as much. Some injury trouble lately hasn't helped the situation either, but the Cavs GM has found a way to at least bring some hope back to the city of Cleveland in the form of Oft-injured Greg Oden and ROY Candidate Evan Turner. | PACERS: Probably the most active team in the league in terms of # of GMs and general moves. To this point, they are a bit of a mishmash, which is to be expected when multiple GM's put their own stamp on the team over a period of a couple weeks. Whoever the new GM ends up being should probably look to ship out Arenas and Jermaine O'Neal and just follow the youth movement with Beasley leading the way. | RAPTORS: Bye bye Chris Bosh = Bye bye Playoff chances. Not that Toronto's GM minds too much. He seems to be looking forward to a high draft pick, to help this young squad continue to develop. There are some exciting pieces, and one or two high picks over the next one or two years should make things interesting again north of the border. Until there, there's always hockey, eh? |

Thanks to Portland for setting up the table. Comments are mine. If you think you can do better, make your own! More activity is always great. Leave comments and let me know what you think. Keep in mind, I didn't make the order, it came from the game. I just provided the Comments.

Good work NY. Totally agree with your assessment. Got a good core but for some reason they can't play well together. Going to have to ride it out a little longer and hope for some improvement before trading.

Great Job NY. Thanks for the work.
1 side note: The Nets never drafted John Wall and then traded them. We basically moved Devin Harris for Pierce through a couple of moves.

Very good job.
1 side note here as well: Toronto doesn't have that high pick in 2011. He traded it to me for the rights to rubio
