Denver Nuggets Send: 93 | Carmelo Anthony - $17,149,243 - $18,518,574 75 | Chris Andersen - $3,942,000 - $4,234,000 - $4,526,000 - $4,818,000 Total: $21,091,243
Portland TrailBlazers Send: 73 | Luke Babbitt - $1,645,440 - $1,768,800 - $1,892,280 - $2,902,758 - $4,078,374 72 | Tiago Splitter - $3,400,000 - $3,672,000 - $3,944,000 67 | Craig Brackins - $1,306,920 - $1,404,960 - $1,503,000 - $2,394,279 - $3,450,156 2011 1st (CHI, 11-14, 11th worst record in the league) 2011 1st (CLE, 8-19, 2nd worst record in the league) 2011 1st (CHA, 10-15, 7th worst record in the league) Total: $6,352,360
----------------------------------------- Blazers' Cap Space before: $18,696,586 Blazers' Cap Space after: $3,957,703 -----------------------------------------
Why for me? After my last trade with Warriors i got enough cap space to go for Melo in the off-season but this trade works for me for the following reasons: 1) My team will be much better for this season. 2) Now, i will be able to offer Melo a better contract in the off-season and i still can offer him the chance to play with Curry, Ellis, Horford and Noah. 3) The 2 best draft propects are Harrison barnes and Perry Jones (both sfs like Melo).
Why for Nuggets? This trade works perfect for Denver because he is in a position (8-19) in which the best he can do is to go young and try to make his pick as good as possible. With this trade he does just that. Next season, the future of his team will look bright with lot of cap space, Jennings, Lawson, Babbit, Splitter, 2 potential top 3-5 picks (CLE and DEN) and 2 very good picks (CHA and CHI). And if he doesn't want to use his cap space in next off-season, he can wait one more season because all his young players will have at least option for 2012-13.
As how i see it, this deal works perfect for both teams!

I accept, as you know I really wanted to get Lopez but everyone else thought that it wasn't good enough and I wasn't getting enough picks. Well I'm getting friggin' 3 1st rounders this year along with Babbbitt and Splitter who were both 1st Rounders. Also Brackins who could turn out to be something good for the 76ers. I wanted Lopez because he is a young emerging star and there are a few legit centers in the league, and also very proven so far. But of course that was rejected so this deal gives me a shit load of stuff to work worth and maybe Splitter can turn out to be Lopez 2.0? Anderson is in the deal just to get rid of his contract.

1/1
Shocking that the league has allowed Marco's Portland Trailblazers stockpile all those dang picks in the first place. But this is what savvy GMs do -- they play to win the game -- and Marco's Portland Trailblazers has done just that with putting together the pound-for-pound best team in our little NBA Sim.
I say hurray Marco's Portland Trailblazers.
Now, I also look for Denver to move quickly to gather more 1st rounders from his other old vets as he looks to build his own superteam for the 2012-2013 season.
Regards.
PS: I think it is fair due to the large amount of top-shelf first rounders, wanted to make that clear.

Reject.
Picks are overrated in this and Denver should be getting at least an 80 in return. The three players Portland is sending won't be much in real life and SIM. Melo is a top 5 player in the league.

Melo is a top 5 player in the league. So then why reject the Lopez trade! I was at least getting a stud young player that I really liked! If I really wanted to get a lot of rating value to make my team good I would of traded Carmelo for two guys that are in their 30s and rated 84 or something. I want to rebuild this team though and that's why I wanted a young center who is hard to come by.

3/4 much much better. getting 5-6 young players for Melo. no complaints Let's be honest here and look at that group of young guys. I don't see any of them ever panning out to be good/ great players let alone becoming an elite player like Melo. And the picks are irrelevant because the whole draft class situation is messed up right now anyway. I feel people are afraid to reject trades involving staff. The Lopez deal was better than this.

After looking at this for what seems like days (hey I guess it has been), I am going to have to reject.
The picks are simply too much of an unknown. Cleveland's is likely to stay as a high lotto, no doubt. However, Chicago and Charlotte both have a shot at improving at least enough to sneak into the playoffs, and if they do that, their picks are 15 or later - AKA Out of the Lotto. Babbitt seems solid, but how much is he really gonna play? He's behind Batum and he's behind Aldridge for any significant PT (IRL), and both those guys are young and sticking around for awhile. Splitter will start from how things look, but I really don't see star potential in him. He'll be a very solid player for a very long time, most likely, but he's not good enough/not proven either right now, so I just can't have him be one of the two main pieces for Carmelo Anthony.
I would say Denver needs to get a still young, but already proven pretty solid player (at least a 78 or so right now with the chance to improve more), AND what is likely to be a pretty high lotto pick. So say, Brook Lopez with NJ's pick maybe. Or, Cleveland's pick here with Noah or Horford maybe.
Other pieces could be thrown around in those proposed deals, but I'd like to see a proven, solid young player with potential left, with a pretty nice 1st round Pick as the centerpiece for Carmelo Anthony Trade. Or, two proven younger players.
Portland, you got Curry and Monta for CP3 (and say Warrick). By that logic and value, you should be giving Horford and Noah (or one of those two and Cleveland's Pick, maybe?) for Melo and a lesser role-player type.
Again, I'm just talking the centerpiece of the deal there, not necessarily straight up like that, but that should be the big part.
So, as of now we are at 3 accept, 2 reject.
We need Houston to vote, and if Brad/TB/Washington gets on someone could ask him to maybe vote as well. We may need him as the tiebreaker.

This storm was brewing for several weeks. While certainly a lot of dialog has pertained to the trade comm. and their handling of this trade (as well as some) others, I bring us back to my original post.
Marco stockpiled what appears to be roughly 20 picks over the next three seasons as well as found a way into several 3-way deals all the while building up his team.
This is the end of this journey....perhaps teams will think twice about trading to trade, casting picks off like they were old pairs of soxs and allowing more three-ways here than at a porn shoot.
Marco amassed a war chest due to careless trading and now he has chosen to utilize it.
Debate rages on, but let's look back in the rearview mirror as well to see how our shoes got shined.
Nice.
